There Is No Scarcity in Source

As above, so below.

We have been taught to believe in lack. Lack of time. Lack of money. Lack of love. Lack of opportunity. Lack of success. Somewhere along the way, we even came to believe that God is limited; as though the Source of all life could somehow run dry. We compare ourselves to one another as though someone else's joy somehow diminishes our own. We withhold our praise because another person's success feels like evidence of our failure. We quietly believe there is only so much abundance to go around.

I don't experience life that way.

Scarcity is not a property of Source; it is a product of forgetting. The moment we believe ourselves to be separate from the One from which we arise, we begin grasping, competing, fearing, and comparing. We begin chasing what has never been missing. We search for love as though it belongs to someone else. We chase success as though another person's achievement leaves less for us. We cling to approval because we have forgotten our own inheritance.

Success is not something to be acquired. It is not a title, a paycheck, a following, or recognition. Success is becoming the fullest expression of the Source from which you came. It is allowing Life to move through you as only it can through you. There has never been another you, and there never will be. The oak does not compete with the willow. The river does not envy the mountain. The sunrise has never apologized to the stars. Creation does not compete with itself; it simply creates.

Tonight my son asked me why God allows bad things to happen. He wondered why God would give us free will if we could use it to hurt one another. It is a question I have reflected on many times, because it rests upon an understanding of God that has never resonated with me.

I don't experience God as something separate from life. I experience God as the Source from which life arises. The breath breathing. The awareness aware. The Love loving. We often imagine God as someone watching from somewhere else; rewarding, punishing, intervening according to some mysterious plan. But I experience God as the very Presence animating all things; the Life looking through every pair of eyes, the Love beating within every heart, the same Source expressing itself through countless forms.

Free will is not God stepping away. It is the freedom through which God experiences creation. Through us. Every choice becomes an opportunity to remember who we are, or to forget. Our hands become the means through which compassion is expressed. Our words become the means through which healing or harm enters the world. Our lives become the place where Love takes form.

This is why our thoughts matter. Feeling follows thought, and our experience follows feeling. We live from the quality of our consciousness. Fear contracts. Love expands. Scarcity closes the hand. Abundance opens it. The only thing standing between you and the experience you desire is the thought you continue to think. Change the thought; change the feeling. Change the feeling; change the experience. The life we experience is inseparable from the life we cultivate within.

We spend so much of our lives searching for what has never been absent. Peace. Joy. Belonging. Love. We look for them in accomplishments, relationships, possessions, and the opinions of others. Yet they do not originate there. They arise from the inexhaustible Source from which we all emerge. We have mistaken the wave for something separate from the ocean, and then we spend our lives afraid there won't be enough water.

I cannot believe in scarcity because I cannot believe that Source is limited. Pain is real. Grief is real. Suffering is real. But they are not evidence that God has withdrawn. They are part of the human experience through which Life continues to unfold. Beneath it all, the Source remains whole, unbroken, and inexhaustible.

You are not here to compete for your birthright. You are here to embody it. You are here to allow Love to move through your hands, beauty through your eyes, compassion through your heart, creativity through your imagination, and healing through your presence. You are not here to become worthy of abundance; you are here to remember that you arise from it.

That's the Pura Vida Way.

Pura Vida, baby.
