Holistic psychiatry, stones stacked, ocean.

In our current healthcare landscape, many individuals are waking up to the limitations of the traditional medical model. At Pura Vida Psychiatry, we recognize that true healing does not happen by addressing symptoms alone. Instead, we believe the body holds the key to deeper transformation…a gateway not only to mental clarity but to spiritual awakening as well.

For decades, the collective understanding of health has been rooted in the physical: fix the body, relieve the symptom, restore function. But what if the body isn't simply a machine to be repaired, but a sacred threshold: a living, intelligent guide that can lead us to profound healing and deeper truth?

We see it every day in our work. Clients often seek care because something in their physical reality isn’t working, be it chronic stress, anxiety, fatigue, or the side effects of long-term medication. But as we begin to work with them, through somatic practices, intentional psychiatric care, integrative supports, and deep presence, they begin to uncover what truly lies beneath. Emotional wounds, spiritual longing, and the quiet voice of intuition that has long been silenced by a system not built to hear it.

This is why we at Pura Vida Psychiatry are committed to a body-mind-spirit model of care.

We start with the body because this is where most people feel safe beginning. From there, we gently invite the mind into deeper reflection and integration, and eventually, we help guide people back home to the spirit, the part of them that already knows.

Our providers are trained in this holistic framework and embody it in their presence and practice. And because we believe in this model so deeply, we are currently developing a national provider training program that will equip others to offer this same level of transformational care, rooted in integrity, compassion, and evolution.

Healing isn't linear. But we believe the journey begins in the body, and that every step taken with reverence and intention opens a doorway into something more.

At Pura Vida Psychiatry, we’re not just offering services, we’re holding space for the rising of consciousness, one person at a time.
